Modified on Tue, 12 Nov, 2024 at 9:40 AM

Issue Description

When a Zerto appliance license key expires, a known bug may cause the Graphical User Interface (GUI) to display a "503 Service Unavailable" alert. This issue can prevent users from accessing the Zerto GUI and performing routine operations.

Affected Versions

This issue has been identified in Zerto appliances up to version 10.0U4 and is reported to be resolved in Zerto 10.0U5 and later releases.

Cause

The 503 alert is triggered by an expired license key, which impacts the Zerto services and renders the GUI temporarily unavailable.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must update your license key. Follow these steps:

  1. Request a New License Key
    • Contact our support team to request a new license key for your Zerto appliance.
  2. Update the License Key in Zerto
    • Once you receive the new license key, log in to the Zerto appliance interface (if possible) and update the license key.
    • If you cannot access the GUI due to the 503 alert, restart Zerto services or perform any necessary actions to regain temporary access.
    • If this still fails, please contact us so that we can arrange to manually update your DB with the new key.

Preventative Measures

To prevent encountering this issue in the future, ensure that you renew your license key well in advance of its expiration date. Additionally, consider upgrading to Zerto version 10.0U5 or later, where this issue has been addressed.
