Unable to increase a sub-tenant cloud backup quota in Veeam Service Provider Console because the reseller quota is exhausted

Applies to: Veeam Service Provider Console in a multi-tier (provider, reseller, company) Veeam Cloud Connect arrangement, where the reseller has been given a fixed storage quota by the upstream service provider. The exact version was not recorded.
Symptom: A reseller or partner signed in to Veeam Service Provider Console tries to raise the cloud repository storage quota for one of their managed companies. The console does not accept the change: the quota setting cannot be edited or saved, and no clear error message is shown.
Cause: A company's quota is carved out of the reseller's own allocated quota. If the remaining unallocated quota at the reseller level is smaller than the requested increase, the console will not let the company quota be expanded. Deleting a company's backups frees space within that company's quota, but it does not increase the reseller's unallocated quota.
Resolution: 1. In Veeam Service Provider Console, check the reseller's total storage quota and how much of it is already allocated to managed companies. 2. If there is not enough unallocated quota for the increase, either reduce the quota assigned to another company that has spare capacity, or ask the upstream service provider to increase the reseller's quota. 3. Once enough unallocated quota is available, raise the company's quota to the required size. 4. Separately, if a protected machine has been moved or recreated and is now backed up as a new object, remove the orphaned restore points for the old object so they stop consuming the company's quota.
