How to purge a file type from backup set

For example, I have discovered my backup set includes a large amount of ".dat" files I wish to purge from all backups, To do this, please do the following.



1. Go to Sets > Delete > Selective Delete in the DS-Client:

2. Select time based and from the earliest to latest points: 


3.  Leave 0 generations online. This will completely purge ALL copies of the file and will be irreversible:


4. I'm using ".dat" for this example. Filter by your ".dat" files:

5.  Put a tick in the directory the file exists.


6. Select Calculate amount and it will show you how many files its set to delete.
