When raising a ticket for any dr2cloud Zerto issues, if the issue relates to a specific ZVM, VRA or VPG error please ensure that you collect a log bundle for the issue and have the exported ZIP file uploaded to the supplied SharePoint URL - please see the instructions below on how to collect a log bundle.
Go to the Start menu and run Zerto Virtual Replication > Zerto Diagnostics.
Ensure Collect Zerto logs for use by Zerto support is selected and click Next.
In the next window, enter your company name and email address, if instructed by the support agent enter the supplied Zerto case number. The log timeframe will default to the last 4 hours, if needed adjust this to ensure the timeframe covers the period when the issue occurred.
Click Next.
Note. By default Zerto logs are only saved for up to 72 hours.
Click Yes if the following prompt appears
The log collector will now attempt to connect to the ZVM instance, please note this could take several minutes.
Select Alerts
Any active alerts will now be listed, if the issue you are reporting relates to any of these alerts select them and click Next.
Select VPGs
If you selected any alerts previously the associated VPGS will automatically be selected, click Next.
If you did not select any alerts you must manually select the VPGs that your issue relates too.
Customize
The associated sites relating to the selected alerts and VPGs will be auto selected.
If there is a connectivity issue to any remote site untick this now or the log collection will error.
If all selected sites are connected you can continue and click Next.
Now select the VRAs that you wish to capture logs for, by default the associated VRAs for the selected VPGs will automatically be selected, click Next.
Unless instructed by support leave all options on this screen unchecked, click Next.
If your environment includes vCloud Director and the issue relates to a VCD error select Collect Local VMware vCloud Director Logs and complete the Cell IP / Host name and Cell Root password fields, click Next.
If you entered a Zerto case number at the start of this process, ceck Automatically upload files to Zerto Server and select the Target Server as EMEA, click Next.
If you did not enter a Zerto case number at the start of this process, uncheck Automatically upload files to Zerto Server and click Next.
Review
A summary will now be shown, review this and if correct click Start to begin the log collection.
Note. This process could take up to 30 minutes to complete.
