When protecting a Hyper-V VM a prerequisite when the recovery environments VMware based (vCenter and vCloud Director) is to have VMware vmTools installed on the VM.

The standard offline vmTools installer that can be downloaded from VMware includes a pre install check that verifies the VM is running on a VMware hypervisor - So when trying to install on to a Hyper-V VM the installation fails.
