Bandwidth Throttling controls the amount of the outgoing traffic from a site. When defined,  an 'artificial ceiling' is created meaning that the aggregate/total BW used for replication from any VRA replicating out of the site will not   exceed the set number. There is also a time-based feature. When Define it will throttle the bandwidth during specific times. For example, during the daily peak transaction period you can change the bandwidth throttling, to override the general setting.

In addition to this, the ZVM will also regulate BW as it is used by the VRAs based on VPG priority. This means that in the event the available BW (either available on the connection or based on the throttle settings) is insufficient to sustain replication, then BW will be allocated to replication based on VPG priority (IE high will get all the BW it needs; any leftover goes to medium; any leftover goes to low - you can also explore the in-priority hierarchy as described in the documentation based on).

Steps

Bandwidth Throttling

  1. Login to the ZVM UI.
  2. Click SETTING in the top right of the header and select Site Settings.
  3. Click Performance and Throttling.
  4. Uncheck the Bandwidth Throttling "limited" checkbox.

  4. Uncheck the Time Based Throttling  checkbox
