Symptoms:

An administrator may encounter situations when it may be helpful to increase the reserved RAM on an existing VRA, such as for IO performance fine-tuning, or the need to service more disks simultaneously.  This article will outline the steps necessary to do so, without having to re-deploy the VRA.

Solution:

The following steps are an example of how to change the memory allocation for a VRA, up to 16GB:

  1. Right-click on the VRA in vSphere Client, and choose Power > Shutdown Guest.
  2. Right-click on the VRA in vSphere Client, and choose Edit Settings.
  3. Under Hardware, select Memory.
  4. Change Memory Size.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Right-click on the VRA in vSphere Client, and choose Edit Settings.
  7. Choose the Resources tab.
  8. Under Memory, set the reservation to the appropriate RAM size in MB.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Power on VRA.

Bitmap sync is expected after the VRA is powered on.
