Symptoms:
An administrator may encounter situations when it may be helpful to increase the reserved RAM on an existing VRA, such as for IO performance fine-tuning, or the need to service more disks simultaneously. This article will outline the steps necessary to do so, without having to re-deploy the VRA.
Solution:
The following steps are an example of how to change the memory allocation for a VRA, up to 16GB:
- Right-click on the VRA in vSphere Client, and choose Power > Shutdown Guest.
- Right-click on the VRA in vSphere Client, and choose Edit Settings.
- Under Hardware, select Memory.
- Change Memory Size.
- Click OK.
- Right-click on the VRA in vSphere Client, and choose Edit Settings.
- Choose the Resources tab.
- Under Memory, set the reservation to the appropriate RAM size in MB.
- Click OK.
- Power on VRA.
Bitmap sync is expected after the VRA is powered on.
