Solution:

In order to flatten VMDK delta disks, from within the vSphere client – attach the disks to any VM, right click on the VM in inventory, then click on Snapshot -> Consolidate. This will create a VMDK that includes “-flat” in the filename. This disk can then be used for pre-seeding in Zerto.
